dawn posey has performed extensively with various chamber ensembles in the United States and abroad, including the Boston Conservatory Honors Quartet, Festival A Tempo in Caracas, Venezuela, the Chamber Music Festival of Amman, Jordan, and the Blossom Music Festival. In addition, she has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Missouri, Indiana, and Great Britain.

Dawn was the recipient of the Starling Scholarship at the University of Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music, where her primary teacher was Dr. Won-Bin Yim. She has also studied with the late renowned string pedagogue, Miss Dorothy Delay at Aspen Music Festival, Lynn Chang at the Boston Conservatory, Mrs. Almita Vamos in Chicago and concert violinist Rachel Barton Pine.

Dawn has been a member of the violin faculty at the Sherwood Conservatory, the Merit School of Music, and at the University of Evansville, Indiana. In Evansville Dawn was the second violinist with the Eykamp String Quartet and Associate Concertmaster with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. Dawn is currently Assistant Concertmaster with both the Youngstown Symphony and the West Virginia Symphony. She is also a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra first violin section.

jason ginter is the newly appointed Principal Timpanist of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, starting in the 2008-2009 season.  He has performed as a timpanist and percussionist with orchestras throughout the country, and has formerly held the position of Principal Timpanist with the Peoria Symphony and the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestras. 

A native of Cleveland, Jason began playing the drums at age 12, and while in high school he was selected to play with the Cleveland Orchestra on a “Percussion Spectacular” concert featuring Dame Evelyn Glennie.  As a 2007 percussion fellow of the Tanglewood Music Festival, Jason performed under the direction of James Levine, Mark Elder and Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos.

Released in late 2007, Jason can be heard on Sacred Songs and Interludes, a new recording by Pittsburgh composer Nancy Galbraith featuring the Pittsburgh Camerata Choir.

A graduate of the Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music, he studied with members of the Percussion Group Cincinnati.  His other major teachers have included Indianapolis Symphony percussionist Craig Hetrick and Cincinnati Symphony percussionist David Fishlock. 

Jason is a protégé of Pittsburgh Symphony timpanist Timothy Adams, Jr.  During the year spent at Carnegie Mellon University working with Professor Adams, Jason was a winner of the 2008 Carnegie Mellon Concerto Competition.  A solo performance with orchestra of Joan Tower’s percussion concerto Strike Zones is scheduled for Fall 2008.

Jason is the author of Exercises for the Beginning Percussionist (2004), has published articles on the subject of teaching percussion, and has coached award-winning ensembles throughout the United States.
