The variedDuo
of violinist Dawn Posey and percussionist Jason Ginter began as
a desire to create chamber music using a unique combination of instruments,
while equally displaying the possibilities of each. Inspired by
American composer Lou
Harrison’s work entitled “The Varied Trio”,
the duo is devoted to the performance of existing works for violin
and percussion and arrangement of other works for new instrument
combinations. The variedDuo’s combination of chamber
music, solo and duet literature results in endless musical possibilities.
The variedDuo is also dedicated to the commission of new
chamber music works, including collaboration with other artists
and musicians. Current collaborations include “Moorish Dances”,
a new piece for violin, percussion and piano by composer Richard
Faith. |
